At Shadowridge, our focus is on Asset Management. Solving client problems through active asset management strategies is what we do best. Our disciplined strategies are designed to grow assets while managing risk. This tactical approach to investing allows us to focus on wealth preservation and clients’ needs for total return.

You can’t achieve your financial goals by losing money.

Does it make sense to keep money in an investment which is likely to lose 20% or more of its value?

Of course not. Yet many financial advisors and investment managers advocate a “buy and hold” strategy, recommending that investors keep their money invested even during a bear market.

In certain market conditions, the “buy and hold” method of investing is irresponsible, in our opinion. We seek to be better stewards of your assets.

Our Philosophy

We are tactical asset managers, but we do not attempt to “time the market.” Instead, we believe that market exposure should be increased or reduced based on prevailing market conditions.

Market timing is a very short-term strategy in which the investor trades from day-to-day based on presumptions about what the market will do on that day.

Tactical active management is based on longer term market trends. We believe there are long-term trends in the market that can be used to our investors’ advantage.

We believe there are optimal times to take risks, and times to play it safe.

While no one can predict with certainty how the market will perform at any given time, historically, many market characteristics tell us when we are entering a bear market and when we are entering a bull market.

While past performance is no guarantee of future results, selling when a bear market is expected and re-investing when a bull market is expected can yield higher long-term returns – with less risk than a buy-and-hold strategy.

When you partner with Shadowridge, you align yourself with an RIA firm dedicated solely to your success.

We align our interests with your interests.

Shouldn’t your financial advisor act with a fiduciary duty, too? Investors are sometimes surprised to learn that most brokers are not required to operate with this “fiduciary” standard of care, but instead are required to ensure investments are suitable at the time of investing. Unlike your typical broker, we have an ethical and legal obligation to act in your best interest at all times. As Registered Investment Advisors, we are required to put your interests ahead of our own.

We believe that by working together, we can have a greater impact on your financial life.
